SONOMA, Calif. (Aug. 25, 2017) - Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) and the Michael Andretti Foundation will present a star-studded evening at Andretti Winery on Friday, Sept. 15, to kick-off the Verizon IndyCar Series Championship weekend at Sonoma Raceway with the annual Grand Prix Salute Banquet.

The evening will offer a delicious family-style dinner from Elaine Bell Catering paired with wines from Andretti Winery, as well as a silent and live auction. The highlight of the event is a Q&A session with Andretti Autosport drivers, including Ryan Hunter-Reay, 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner Alexander Rossi, and Takuma Sato, winner of this year's Indianapolis 500, as well as three generations of Andrettis: Mario, Michael and Marco.

The popular dinner, which benefits the Sonoma chapter of SCC and the Michael Andretti Foundation, is held each year to celebrate the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma race weekend. A limited number of tickets and tables remain available; individual tickets are $250, tables for 10 are $2,500. Seats and tables can be purchased at sonoma.speedwaycharities.org/events/ or by contacting Cheri Plattner at (707) 933-3950 or [email protected].

The dinner is one of the largest annual fundraisers for the Sonoma chapter of SCC, which has distributed more than $5.6 million to qualified Sonoma County youth groups since 2001. The Michael Andretti Foundation was established to help promote programs for better health, education and welfare of all of America's children.

SCC and the Michael Andretti Foundation would like to thank Firestone, as well as the SCC Children's Champions who help make this event possible, including Ahlborn Fence & Steel Inc., American Asphalt, Beck Communications, Bleyco Inc., Blue Star Gas, CSW/Stuber Stroeh, ESP & Alarm Inc., Falck Northern California/verihealth Inc., Kaiser Permanente, Ramekins-Cornerstone Foundation, Monument Security Inc., Pacific Highway Rentals, Pacific Satellite Inc., PG&E, United Site Services and Verizon.
