The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and Sonoma Raceway have announced the NHRA Sonoma Nationals Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event, originally scheduled for July 24-26 at Sonoma Raceway, will be postponed to a yet-to-be determined future date.
The move comes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is part of the NHRA's revised 2020 season schedule. Sonoma Raceway will continue to work closely with the NHRA on confirming a new race date, while maintaining contact with local and federal government and health officials regarding safety guidelines.
"The effects of this health crisis are impacting every aspect of our society, and though this delay is frustrating, our first priority is the health of our patrons and the larger NHRA drag racing community," said Steve Page, Sonoma Raceway president and general manager.
NHRA Sonoma Nationals ticket holders may use their tickets for the postponed event, choose to receive an event credit for the amount paid to date plus an additional 20 percent or receive a full refund of their purchase price (minus service charges). The 120% event credit can be applied toward any admissions, including, but not limited to, single-day and weekend tickets, upgrades, packages, fan hospitality, camping, etc. for the 2021 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event at Sonoma Raceway, subject to availability.
Fans are asked to start the exchange process within 30 days of the rescheduled date announcement by completing a request form HERE.
Sonoma Raceway and NHRA will work together to announce the rescheduled date as soon as possible. Updates will be relayed through Sonoma Raceway's social media channels, website, email communications and mobile app.
