NASCAR's only race in California starts this Friday, and Sonoma Raceway is gearing up for the action. All eyes turn to Wine Country as it is about to undergo a complete transformation for the July 11-13 weekend.
Friday kicks us off early in the morning with the Cup Series Hauler Parade, open for all trackside campers, before rolling into practice and qualifying for both the ARCA series and Xfinity series. Mid-afternoon, the first race of the weekend — the General Tire 200 —brings everyone together for the first round of action. On Saturday, NASCAR's Cup Series drivers hit the track for their practice and qualifying as they hope to set themselves up for success on Sunday, followed by the Pit Boss/FoodMaxx 250 race. The weekend concludes on Sunday with the Toyota/Save Mart 350, where the drivers will compete in the third round of the In-Season Challenge.
With 2025 being the first year this In-Season Challenge has been added to the schedule, racing at Sonoma becomes even more critical. This is the first time in history that Sonoma will host a round of the midseason tournament. As round three lands on Sonoma, the Toyota/Save Mart 350 marks the deciding moment where drivers will fight to secure their spot in the final round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Ty Gibbs currently leads going into Round 3 at Sonoma Raceway this weekend, with Alex Bowman close behind. The remaining drivers making it to Round 3 are John Hunter Nemechek, Zane Smith, Ryan Preece, Erik Jones, Tyler Reddick and Ty Dillon.
Stay up to date on all the action at the track throughout the week by following Sonoma Raceway on X, Instagram, and Facebook, or by downloading the Sonoma Raceway mobile app.
