AAA to sponsor Kentucky Speedway garages: AAA announced its partnership with Kentucky Speedway to sponsor the "AAA Garage," the areas at the track used by both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and XFINITIY Series teams during race weekend. This will be the first time AAA will make this type of sponsorship in motorsports. As part of AAA's sponsorship, the AAA Garage will feature AAA branding at Kentucky Speedway NASCAR events for the next three seasons. The garage sponsorship was a natural fit for AAA. The company is a leader in providing car care for consumers, and helps fans get back on the road fast when car issues arise. AAA has had a strong presence in NASCAR for years but the organization has increased its efforts significantly this season. They were the title sponsor of the AAA 400 Drive for Autism in May. AAA sponsors Richard Childress Racing drivers Austin Dillon and Brandon Jones. Dillon has had a AAA paint scheme for two races this year, and will again in October, while Jones will drive his #33 AAA Camaro at the Alsco 300 at Kentucky.(Kentucky Speedway)

Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also were winners in their respective categories at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event at Route 66 Raceway near Chicago.

Brown used a consistent string of 3.7-second runs to speed past Clay Millican, Terry McMillen and Leah Pritchett and advance to the final. He dialed up another 3.7-second run to get past Todd. With the win, Brown moves two points ahead of season-long leader Kalitta, who drives the rival Mac Tools dragster.

In Funny Car, Beckman defeated red-hot Ron Capps in the final. Beckman posted a winning time of 3.955 at 324.05 in his Infinite Hero Foundation Dodge Charger, while Capps' NAPA Auto Parts Dodge lost traction near the start. Newgarden dominates field to win Iowa Corn 300

Josef Newgarden put on one of the most dominant clinics in Indy car history, leading a record 282 laps today to win the Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway. The victory was the third of Newgarden's six-year Verizon IndyCar Series career and first on an oval track. It also vaulted the Ed Carpenter Racing driver three spots into second place in the point standings after 10 of 16 completed races.

Starting the 300-lap race second in the No. 21 Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka/ECR Chevrolet, Newgarden bolted past pole sitter Simon Pagenaud on the opening lap and never looked back. The only time the 25-year-old surrendered the lead came when he made pit stops for fuel and tires. His 282 laps led are the most ever by a driver in an Indy car race, surpassing the 250 by Ryan Hunter-Reay when he led every lap to win at Milwaukee in 2004.

Will Power finished in second place, 4.2828 seconds behind Newgarden. Driving the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet, Power passed Pagenaud and reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon in the final seven laps to collect his third podium finish in as many races - on the heels of his back-to-back wins at Detroit's Belle Isle-2 and Road America. Dixon finished third in the No. 9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet for his 88th career podium finish - moving the four-time series champion into a tie for sixth on the all-time podiums list with Helio Castroneves, Bobby Rahal and Al Unser Jr.
