NASCAR returns to wine country June 26-28 as fans from across the country head to Sonoma Raceway for an action-packed weekend featuring the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, June 28.

To help fans make the most of their race weekend experience, Sonoma Raceway has released a visitor guide covering lodging recommendations, travel tips and parking information ahead of one of Northern California’s premier summer sporting events.

Where to Stay

Fans traveling to NASCAR weekend are encouraged to book accommodations early, as hotels throughout Wine Country fill quickly for race weekend.

Sonoma

The charming town of Sonoma is the closest destination to the raceway and offers boutique hotels, historic inns, restaurants and tasting rooms just minutes from the track.

Napa

Located approximately 20-30 minutes from the raceway, Napa provides visitors with upscale resorts, downtown nightlife, world-renowned wineries and convenient access to Highway 121.

Marin County

Fans coming from the Bay Area may also consider staying in Marin County communities such as Novato or San Rafael, which offer easy freeway access to Sonoma Raceway while placing visitors close to San Francisco attractions.

Additional accommodations are available throughout Sonoma County, Vallejo and Fairfield for guests seeking a variety of lodging options and price points.

Camp at the Track

Instead of fighting for great hotel rates and risking sold out airbnb's, simply bring an RV and park it right at the racetrack for four nights at a low price (cheaper than any of the nearby hotels!)

Getting to Sonoma Raceway

Sonoma Raceway is located at 29355 Arnold Drive in Sonoma, California, near the junction of Highways 37 and 121. Fans are encouraged to arrive early each day, especially on Sunday, to avoid peak traffic congestion around the venue.

Travel times can increase significantly on race morning, particularly from the Bay Area and Sacramento regions, so race officials recommend allowing extra travel time and using GPS navigation apps for real-time traffic updates.

Parking Information

Parking options for NASCAR weekend include both free general parking and reserved premium parking areas.

Free General Parking

Free parking will be available Friday through Sunday in designated general admission lots.

  • Guests traveling northbound on Highway 121 should use Gate 7. *Note that Gate 7 will not be open on Friday and all guests will be directed to enter through Gate 1.
  • Southbound Highway 121 traffic will be directed to the 50 Acres Parking Lot.
  • Overnight parking is prohibited unless guests are camping onsite.

Reserved Parking

Reserved parking passes are available in Lots 11, 12, 13 and 14, offering closer proximity to popular seating areas near Turns 7 and 9. Guests with Turn 2 seating may utilize shuttle transportation from reserved parking areas.

Lot 3 parking is also available Saturday and Sunday and provides the closest access to Turn 2 and the Main Grandstands. Parking passes must be purchased separately and used in conjunction with an event ticket.

Fans are encouraged to purchase reserved parking in advance due to limited availability.
