Sonoma Raceway and Vitalant join forces once again on Friday, March 11, for its first blood drive of the year.
Last year’s non-traditional spin on blood drives was a great success. The blood drive welcomed more than 65 individual donors, with more than 20 being first-time donors. In addition, donors got a chance to get their hearts pumping with a high-speed "hot lap" around the road course in a KTM X-BOW around the 12-turn road course. This year Donors will have the same experience around the 12-turn road course but in our Sonoma Raceway Camry.

Sonoma Raceway High-Speed Blood Drive hopes to see over 80 donors give this year. “We are always happy to partner with Vitalant as their dedicated work ensures to help Northern California blood supply,” said Jill Gregory Sonoma Raceway EVP and General Manager. “Who wouldn’t love the opportunity to take a hot lap on a true NASCAR track while also benefitting to a great cause to give blood.”
Safety precautions while giving
There is no waiting period to donate after being vaccinated for COVID-19 or the seasonal flu shot. However, to support a safe environment and most efficiently follow the latest CDC guidance, masks are required for all donors, staff, volunteers, and guests at Vitalant blood drives and facilities regardless of vaccination status.
All donors must be at least 16 years old (16 and 17-year old need a Minor Donor Permit signed by parent/guardian) and bring a valid photo ID.
