Harvick wins at Phoenix: #4-Kevin Harvick won the Good Sam 500(k) Sprint Cup Series race at Phoenix International Raceway for his 1st win of the season, 8th win at Phoenix and 32nd career win. Harvick led 139 of the 312 laps. He has now led more than 100 laps in the last 5 races at Phoenix. After a late caution, the race restarted with "NASCAR Overtime" and Harvick held off #19-Edwards, beating him to the finish line by .01 second, the closest finish ever at Phoenix.

West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame Announces 2016 Class

The West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame announced their Class of 2016 prior to Sunday's Sprint Cup Series Good Sam 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. The five-member class -- John Bickford, Mike Duncan, Johnny Key, Al Pombo and Jim Thirkettl3 - will be inducted on June 23 at the Meritage Resort in Napa, California during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and K&N Pro Series West race weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Bickford, step-father of four-time Sprint Cup champion and FOX Sports analyst Jeff Gordon, managed Gordon's open-wheel racing years, while also doubling as his agent and tutor throughout his NASCAR career.

 

Verizon IndyCar Series

Montoya wins season opener for second consecutive year: The 50th anniversary celebration season for Team Penske is off to a rousing start. Verizon Team Penske driver Juan Pablo Montoya controlled the last half of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg to win the Verizon IndyCar Series season opener for a second straight year. Driving the No. 2 Chevrolet, Montoya led teammate Simon Pagenaud across the finish line by 2.3306 seconds, with Andretti Autosport's Ryan Hunter-Reay third and Team Penske's Helio Castroneves fourth on the 1.8-mile temporary street course.

Will Power Diagnosed with Concussion

Will Power, who won the Verizon P1 Award on March 12 for capturing the pole position for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, missed the season-opening race for the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series with what has been diagnosed a concussion.
