SONOMA, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2016) - Sonoma Raceway kicks off its season of giving with the 16th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, which runs now through Nov. 18.

Race fans and community members have the opportunity to donate at several North Bay locations, and all food collected through the drive will be distributed to two local food banks: Friends in Sonoma Helping (FISH) and the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.

Sonoma Raceway's annual food drive has generated more than 66,300 pounds of food over the past 15 years, including more than 4,600 pounds in 2015.

Non-perishable food items for the Sonoma Raceway Food Drive can be dropped off at the following locations:

RKA Motorcycle Luggage will continue its annual tradition of hosting a motorcycle group ride on Saturday, Nov. 19, which will include a pit stop at Sonoma Raceway to drop off collected food items and a spin around the Sonoma Raceway road course. The mission of the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks ( is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin counties. Hunger is a serious problem in our community - with one in four children and adults at risk of hunger in San Francisco and Marin. The Food Bank distributes enough food for more than 100,000 meals each day. During an average week, their programs serve more than 30,000 households and, in total, the Food Bank provides food to 225,000 people each year. The San Francisco and Marin Food Banks will distribute 50 million pounds of food this year and more than 60 percent is farm-fresh fruits and vegetables.

FISH ( has been helping Sonoma Valley residents in times of need since 1970 and provides not only food, but clothing, transportation and emergency rental assistance to Sonoma Valley residents in need. FISH has been a beneficiary of the raceway's food drive since its inception in 2001.
