SONOMA, Calif. (May 29, 2018) - Sonoma Raceway has teamed up with Friedman's Home Improvement and The Children's Museum of Sonoma County to host a free race-car themed KidsWorks Creative Workshop at the Santa Rosa Freidman's store this Saturday, June 2.

Kids of all ages are invited to develop, build and race gravity-powered race cars from 9 a.m. - noon at the Friedman's store at 4055 Santa Rosa Ave. The event will also feature fun activities at the Museum-on-the-Go's interactive exhibits and Sonoma Raceway's NASCAR show car. Father's Day coloring sheets will also be available for kids to color or take home.

Students participating in the 5th annual STEM Race Car Challenge will have the opportunity to test their own gravity-powered race cars at the event. Finalists of the STEM Race Car Challenge will compete on Saturday, June 23, of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 weekend at Sonoma Raceway.

The KidsWorks Creative Workshop focuses on providing art and science enrichment programs to local kids through interactive workshops, which allow children to learn while creating.
