This year's NASCAR trip to Sonoma is particularly special with it being the only stop in California that NASCAR will make.

As one of the most historic tracks on the circuit, Sonoma Raceway is proven to be an unpredictable race for even the most skilled drivers. As a road course, racing at Sonoma requires drivers to make left AND right turns, battle hairpin turns and manage elevation changes, all while trying to take-over opponents in order to secure the win.

No matter where a driver stands coming into Sonoma, the track pushes each and every driver to their limit. Here’s what some of the sport's biggest stars had to say about what it would mean to win in Sonoma:

Tyler Reddick, No. 45, 23XI
"Sonoma has been hard for me to figure out over the years. (A win there) would be a weight off of my shoulders to finally get the job done."

Kyle Larson, No. 5, Hendrick Motorsports
"Sonoma is my home track and to have a couple wins is cool. I just always love going out there."

Shane van Gisbergen, No. 88, Trackhouse Racing
"The trophies here are awesome and the fans and how celebrated the race is cool."

Chase Elliott, No. 9, Hendrick Motorsports
"Would love to check the box of winning at Sonoma. It would be so cool."

John Hunter Nemechek, No. 42, Legacy Motor Club
"To win anywhere is special but this race has a huge presence by Toyota, so it feels extra important. To win my first Cup race and first race with Legacy Motor Club would be very cool to do in Sonoma. The area is beautiful, there so many things to do. A lot of the teams bring family on this trip, and we usually have a lot of partners who make the trip as there are so many touristy things to do, and we are able to entertain them there like no other place on the circuit."

Christian Eckes, No. 16, Kaulig Racing Xfinity Team
“It would mean a lot to win in Sonoma. I’ve never won at a road course, and if the first one came at this historic track it would definitely be special.”

Daniel Dye, No. 10, Kaulig Racing Xfinity Team
“This will be my first time ever racing in California so it would be really special to be 1-for-1 after the weekend. I won’t know how the track feels until I get on track for practice, but Sonoma is a super unique course with hairpin turns and lots of hills. It’s a pretty demanding track, but it’s a challenge I’m looking forward to taking on for the first time.”
