The thrill of the racetrack met the heart of the community on January 31 as Sonoma Raceway hosted Speedway Children’s Charities’ Drive For Charity event, raising more than $11,400 to support Sonoma County families and children in need.
Benefiting the Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC), the popular event invited participants to take their own street-legal vehicles onto Sonoma Raceway’s iconic road course—turning once-in-a-lifetime laps into meaningful local impact.
From high-performance sports cars to everyday family vehicles, drivers of all backgrounds experienced the famed twists, turns, and elevation changes of the historic circuit. For many, it was a bucket-list adventure; for others, a cherished tradition. Every lap driven directly supported programs that provide critical resources to children and families throughout Sonoma County.
“Drive For Charity is about more than the excitement of driving on a world-class racetrack,” said Courtney Kiser, Director of Speedway Children’s Charities Sonoma Chapter. “It’s about our community coming together to make a difference. Every dollar raised stays local and helps children and families who need it most.”
Since its founding in 2001, the Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities has distributed more than $6.8 million to qualified Sonoma County youth organizations, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to improving the lives of local children.
