The Sonoma Speed Festival will bring an incredible collection of racing machines, along with world-class food and wine and interactive displays to Sonoma Raceway this weekend, May 31-June 2.

A highlight of the weekend will be the appearance of the 10-time Grand Prix winning Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Formula 1™ car of Lewis Hamilton, driven by test driver Esteban Gutiérrez. The most successful individual chassis in the history of Formula 1™ will delight fans with fire-ups on Friday and demonstration laps around the 12-turn road course on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Members of the current racing team will arrive directly from the Monaco Grand Prix to prepare and run the car.

A full field of awe-inspiring vehicles is slated to hit the track in 10 invited race groups, spanning the history of motorsports from the Brass Era to the modern age, including the Porsche 917K, Ferrari 250 GTO and even the Lotus 77 Formula 1 car (John Player Special Mk.II).  For a glimpse of the accepted cars and entry list, visit www.sonomaspeedfestival.com/attending-cars.

Sonoma Raceway celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019, and to honor this milestone the Historic Trans-Am class will highlight the legendary Trans-American Championship race hosted at the track in 1969 with on-track competition between Trans-Am racing vehicles including Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros and AMC Javelins.

Outside of racing action on the track, guests can enjoy a curated collection of local wineries and distilleries in the Sip & Savor Pavilion. This luxurious experience will highlight some of the greatest wines from around the region, coupled to expertly pair with charcuterie and sweet creations by Chef Izzy Kurtz (Joseph Phelps/Calistoga Ranch).

Outside the Sip & Savor Pavilion, patrons will enjoy wine-focused experiences by Day Owl Rose, Harken Wine and Line 39 Wine while, in the Food Park, Viansa Sonoma will curate an Italian Marketplace serving delicious wine country picnic fare and wines, while Rob Larman's Cochon Valant BBQ serves their famous, slow-cooked BBQ next door.
