Teen Safe Driving
The all-new Teen Safe Driving Program at Sonoma Raceway is aimed at equipping young, inexperienced driver with the skills and confidence needed to navigate today's roads safely and responsibly. This program combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on training in a controlled environment. Participants will drive behind the wheel of an official Sonoma Raceway vehicle with the aim to gain a deeper understanding of vehicle dynamics and essential car control techniques – knowledge that is crucial for accident avoidance and overall road safety.

- Anti-Lock Braking Exercise
- Oversteer Skid Control Exercise
- Accident Avoidance Lane Change Exercise
*Parent/Guardian must be present to sign Minor Waiver in-person onsite. No refunds or credit for cancellations within 48 hours of program start time.
Yes, drivers must have at least 20 hours of driving experience.
Yes, a learner's permit is required to participate.
Sonoma Raceway's minor waiver must be completed in-person by a parent or guardian if under the age of 18.
We will have waters available to participants, however no meals are provided with this program. There is a café on-property for any food needs before or after the program.
Sessions are 4 hours long, with either a 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. morning session or 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. session. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your session start time for check in and waiver signing.
Course is not exclusively for teens – any age is permitted so long as they meet the minimum requirements.
It is $500 per participant.
The AM and PM sessions are identical in duration and curriculum.
Yes – you are welcome to stay for as little or as long as you’d like. There is an climate-controlled building with wifi, as well as several viewpoints to watch the program.
