SONOMA, Calif. (March 21, 2015) - Northern California hikers have a unique opportunity to tour remote stretches of Sonoma Raceway's 1,600-acre property on Saturday, May 14, and help support a good cause to boot.

The three-mile hike, which will raise funds to support maintenance of the Sonoma Overlook Trail, will traverse hillsides to the west of the main raceway facility, covering open space that is not normally accessible to the general public. Utilizing existing fire roads, the route meanders through native grasslands in the midst of what is forecast to be an epic wildflower bloom.

Registration for the hike, which will run from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., is limited to 75 participants. The $50 contribution includes participation in the hike, followed by a picnic lunch provided by Levy Restaurants. In addition, Friedeman Wines has donated its highly-acclaimed Lancel Creek Wines to be served with lunch. Hikers can also participate in a raffle to win a pair of tickets to an upcoming Sonoma Raceway event.

Reservations for the hike are required and space is limited. For more information or to reserve your space, contact Laurie Friedeman at [email protected].
