Northern California drag racers enjoyed another night of great drag racing action at the STP Wednesday Night Drags at Infineon Raceway, Oct. 26.

Concord’s Peter Onopko hopes that his victory in the Motorcycle class is an indication of things to come as the 45 year old contractor claimed his first-ever class win ending a season of frustration and disappointments. The elated Onopko dedicated his win to Yvette Watt Tucker and her fight against breast cancer.

San Jose's Steve Jaslovsky made it back-to-back wins in the Gear Jammers class and was joined in the Winner’s Circle by Frank Steele (Comp Rod), Rick McIllmoil (Sport Street), David Ginther (Street) and Mike Norrbom (High School).

Money was split three ways in the Jack Pot class because of safety precautions taken due to a rapidly cooling race surface. Finalists included Lisa Caldwell (American Canyon), Bob Nance (Napa) and Division 7 2011 Summit ET Pro Champion Steve Parrish (Richmond).

Three events remain in the STP Wednesday Night Drags season schedule with the season finale set for November 16. All events, including the final STP Brackets Drags race on Sunday, November 27 will be aired live on

Next Wednesday, Nov. 2, will be the start of our annual holiday food drive and donations of non-perishable food items are needed to help feed the needy of Sonoma County. Bring four or more items with you and deposit them at the front gate and get a $10 voucher good for any STP Wednesday Night Drags race in 2012.

The food drive will continue through the month of November and donations can also be dropped off at the Infineon Raceway main office during the week. For more information on the food drive, CLICK HERE or contact Jennifer Imbimbo at or 707-933-3981.
