The raceway hosted the Labor Day STP Summit ET Bracket Drags, the last in the 2012 point series, Sept. 3. There was a lot at stake with track championships yet to be decided in addition to drivers looking for a top five finish in each class in order to secure them a spot in the Race of Champions at the Division 7 Summit ET Finals in Bakersfield.

Earning class wins were Dean Hall in Super Pro who powered his Kenwood Vineyard's dragster to a huge victory over defending track champ Art Hoover in the final.

Pro ET had some 63 entries that eventually came down to defending Division 7 Champ Steve Parrish and Ron Nickels. Nickels got the break he needed, securing a berth into the Race of Champions with his hard fought victory over Parrish.

In Sportsman, Richard Hardy ended a long drought and held off Bob Hanson for class honors in a field that began with 44 entries. Denny Alves riding his Alves Farms Kawasaki capped off his season with the 2012 track championship stopping Michael O'Neil for Motorcycle bragging rights.

In the non-Summit ET classes, Don Gatlin of Bakersfield held off a fast closing Melissa Westerman in her Girl Power dragster to claim the win in Top Comp. Westerman's win in round three and Wally Jack's loss to Mike Yeoman broke up the tie giving Westerman the 2012 Nor Cal Top Comp Association title.

In Super Comp, veteran Glenn Kern got the nod after opponent Adam Liberatori fouled out in the final round. Mitchell Gately broke his 64 Nova early in the day but was able to borrow Nicole Sterley's Chevelle to close out the day with a victory in the Trophy class eliminating Mark Scheuer's Mustang for class honors.

Weather permitting, there will be one more non points STP ET Bracket event scheduled for Sunday, November 25 which will close out the 2012 Sonoma drag racing season.
