The celebration of fine cars and fine wine at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival continues into the evening on Saturday, June 2, at the Historic Race Car Festival on the Sonoma Plaza.  Enthusiasts are invited to this charity event, which benefits the Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, to stroll the plaza and view more than 30 beautiful vintage cars on display.

Attendees will also enjoy samplings from area wineries and restaurants, including food tastings from Basque Boulangerie, Epicurean Connection, Murphy’s Irish Pub, The Red Grape, Swiss Hotel, Ben & Jerry’s and Tuscan Cowgirl Dezerts.

Several local wineries, including B.R. Cohn Winery, Chandelle Winery, Deerfield Ranch Winery, Hwy. 12 Vineyards & Winery, Robledo Family Winery and Valley of the Moon Winery, among others, will complement the food with wine tastings.

The event will begin with a parade of 30 historic cars departing under a full CHP escort from the raceway at approximately 5 p.m. on Saturday. The parade of cars will motor along Highways 121 and 12, before reaching the scenic Sonoma Plaza and taking a ceremonial lap around the square. They will then be parked around the horseshoe and on display for the public.

The Historic Race Car Festival runs from 5:30-8 p.m. and tickets can be purchased for $35 at the event or $30 in advance. Call 800-870-RACE (7223) for tickets or click here.
