Sonoma Raceway STEM Gravity Car Challenge
Welcome teachers, parents/guardians, and STEM enthusiasts! This page is designed to accompany the STEM Car Challenge hosted by Sonoma Raceway, Kid Scoop News, and Friedman's Home Improvement. Over 20 schools and clubs in the Sonoma Valley are working hard to build the fastest possible gravity-powered car in their classroom. Students will use recycled materials to build a gravity powered car, in hopes that it will cross the finish line first.
Preliminary rounds will take place at your child's school. Each school will send their top two cars and their 'Most Creative' car to the final round to be held at Sonoma Raceway on Saturday, June 24th prior to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race. However, if your child is not on the first place team, they are still invited to join our NASCAR festivities and cheer on their school as they take on other North Bay schools in the final round of competition. The winner of the final race will receive the opportunity to be a VIP at the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race- the opportunity of a lifetime!
