What's Happening at the Verizon IndyCar© Season Finale This Weekend
For the first time in series history, the Verizon IndyCar Series champion will be crowned in Sonoma on Sunday, but in addition to the incredible on-track action, race fans can also enjoy plenty of action off the track, including driver autograph and Q&A sessions, Ferris wheel rides, a one-of-a kind pre-race show and much more at the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, August 28-30. Below is a glimpse at some of the highlights fans can expect off the track this weekend:
NEW! Real. Strong. Humboldt Redwood Deck
This exclusive club setting at Turn 2 features a 134-foot Real. Strong. Humboldt Redwood deck perched over one of the most dramatic views in racing and includes a private bar and dedicated food and beverage service.
NEW! Relax in the Shade at Turns 2 and 9
Sonoma Raceway has teamed up with Humboldt Redwood Company to construct two new "Grill Garden" seating and shade areas where fans can relax, cool off and enjoy a bite to eat during race weekend. These new areas, featuring redwood arbors, are located at Turn 2, near The Real. Strong. Humboldt Redwood Deck, and above the Turn 9 Terrace on the road course.
Ride the Ferris Wheel
Looking for a great view of the road course? Take a ride on the ferris wheel for just $2. All proceeds benefit Speedway Children's Charities.
Nor Cal Craft Beer
Nobody makes craft beer like Northern California. Morris Distributing has assembled some of Northern California's most popular craft beers, ales and hard cider just for you. Be sure to visit one of the many stands featuring Nor Cal's best craft brews including Racer 5, Great White, North Coast's Scrimshaw, Sudwerks, Fox Craft Cider and 101 North Brewery.
Great Clips Haircuts for Charity
Stop by the Great Clips booth behind the main grandstand in the paddock area. Stylists from local Great Clips salons will give haircuts all weekend for a suggested donation of just $10. All proceeds benefit Speedway Children's Charities.
INDYCAR Fan Village
Make sure to visit the INDYCAR Fan Village located in the main paddock area. See real race cars, win prizes, get your photo with the green flag girls, and challenge your friends in racing simulators. Plus the Fan Village is the only place for driver autograph sessions! INDYCAR Driver Autograph Session (12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m., INDYCAR Fan Village)
All of the Verizon IndyCar Series drivers will take part in this hour-long autograph session for race fans.
Kid's Only Q&A with Takuma Sato & Jack Hawksworth (1:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m., INDYCAR Fan Village)
This exclusive Q&A will allow the youngest INDYCAR fans a chance to ask questions and take pictures with one of the up -and-coming stars of the series
Roger Penske Sonoma Raceway Wall of Fame Induction (1:15 p.m., Wine Country Winner's Circle)
Roger Penske, one of the most renowned figures in auto racing, will be inducted into the Sonoma Raceway Wall of Fame. Penske also holds an impressive record at Sonoma Raceway, including the record for winningest IndyCar Series team owner with five victories (2008, 2010-2013). Penske will take part in the Wall of Fame ceremony and fans are invited to watch.

Robogames Combat Robots
You can find some of the world's top combat robots in the main paddock. Race fans will be able to talk with the driver/engineers who build them and take a peek under the hood of these custom-built machines.
"BE JACK'S MATCH" Bone Marrow Donation Booth
14-month old Jack needs a marrow donor. The National Marrow Donor Program® will host a booth in the main paddock so race fans can register as donors in the registry.
Patriots Jet Team Air Show
The Patriots Jet Team will electrify race fans with a 25-minute air show. The demonstration will feature six-L-39 Albatros jets strutting their fast-paced formation flying, choreographed six-jet diamond-formation aerobatic maneuvers and their signature "Tail Slide."
GoPro Bomb Squad
GoPro's official team of skydivers will jump from 4,000 feet and make their way down to the raceway in their revolutionary wingsuits to deliver the green flag.
National Anthem performed by Lindsay Bruce
Born and raised in nearby Santa Rosa, singer-songwriter Lindsay Bruce is the voice of California country. In 2014, Bruce beat out more than 60,000 hopefuls, landing a spot on Season 6 of The Voice, joining Team Shakira and working with Miranda Lambert.
Drivers, Start Your Engines!
This year's famous command will be given by firefighters from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), who have been named Grand Marshal of the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma.
