The raceway hosted another exciting evening of STP Wednesday Night Drags on September 12.

It was a great evening for two members of the San Bruno based Juggers Racing Team whose early roots date back to the early 1950's. Though Wednesday night winners John Murphy and "Fast Eddie" Kucker were not part of the original group, some of the founding members are still active in the racing community.

Carrying on with the winning tradition of the organization, Murphy picked up the win in the Jack Pot division over Tom Johnson while Kucker stopped Jon Pinten for the Comp Rod title.

Rohnert Park resident Luke Wilson added his name to the first time win list as he topped the field in the highly competitive Gear Jammers division for manually shifted transmission equipped cars.

The STP Wednesday Night Drag races will take a brief hiatus next week as the raceway prepares to host the highly exciting fender bumping FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) on September 21-23. This event marks the series’ debut in the United States. Please visit www.racesonoma.com/wtcc for further details and ticket information. The STP Wednesday Night Drags will resume on September 26.

All STP Wednesday Night Drag racing events are aired live starting at 4 PM PDT on www.1320go.com.

Tragedy struck recently the California Highway Patrol community when CHP Officer Kenyon Youngstrom was shot during a traffic stop on Interstate 680 last Tuesday.  The raceway has had a long relationship with area law enforcement agencies, especially our popular "Top The Cop" program. To offer support to the Youngstrom family, visit www.gofundme.com/OfficerDown. The Support Officer Down program was created to help families of law enforcement members who have been critically wounded or fallen.
