The STP Wednesday Night Drags returned to the Sonoma Valley drag strip on August 15.

The evening marked the final edition of the 2012 Top The Cop's Series. Area police officers finished the season on a high note taking four of six rounds against the High school Students. Only Michaela Rossi and Andrew Galvin managed to salvage wins for the students.  To make things more interesting, Galvin's win came at the expense of his father Tim Galvin, the competing CHP officer.

A big thank you goes out to all of the participating officers and their agencies that have made this program so successful in its 18 year run. A special acknowledgement goes out to retired Santa Rosa police officer Kevin McKinnie who gave this program life and continues to serve as the program director.

This weekend, August 18-19, the raceway will host the STP/Summit ET Bracket Drag Racing Series. The event will be aired live each day on www.1320go.com beginning at 8 a.m. PST. Early parking and pitting will start after 5 p.m. on Friday night.

The STP Wednesday night drags will take a hiatus next week due to the upcoming GoPro Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma set for August 24-26. The drags will return to Sonoma on Wednesday, August 29.
