The STP Wednesday Night Drags returned to the Infineon Raceway drag strip, Aug. 10. Many racers took the opportunity for some last-minute tuning in preparation for this weekend’s two-day STP Summit ET Bracket Drags weekend, which is expected to draw a large number of competitors from all over the state.

Winners included first-time winner Kevin D'Adamo, who ended a long drought and emerged the winner in the Street class beating out more than 38 other entries. Joining D'Adamo in the Winner’s Circle was another first time finalist, Brian Dito, who topped the 31 car field in the Gear Jammers division, which is for stick shift cars. Doug McCay made back-to-back wins in Sport Street and Doug Love continued his domination in Motorcycle.

Other winners included Steve Parrish with his familiar 55 Chevy in Comp Rod and Chelsea Murdock, who claimed the High School class.

As a reminder there will be no STP Wednesday Night Drags for the next two weeks due to the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma IZOD IndyCar® Series race August, 26-28. The next STP Wednesday Night drags will be on August 31, which will also be the final Top The Cops race of the season. A large number of local law enforcement agency officers will be on hand to challenge the high school students in the season finale. We will need a large number of students to fill the field so please help pass the word along!

Gates for this weekend’s STP Summit ET Series bracket races open each day at 7 a.m. with timed runs set for 8:15 a.m. The track broadcast frequency is 87.9 FM and will go on the air at 8 a.m. This event will also be carried live on www.1320go.com
