The Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival returns to Sonoma Raceway with more than 350 gorgeous vintage cars racing on the 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course, May 30-31.

New for 2015, Sonoma Raceway has partnered with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), one of the oldest organizations in vintage racing and the only one with a national presence. This invitational event launches SVRA's Gold Medallion Program, which salutes and rewards cars that are prepared as they were raced in their original era.

From 200-mph Indy and Formula 1 cars to classic Jaguars and Porsches, SVRA events provide a rolling history of motorsport where the cars are the stars at legendary tracks across the country.

Admission to the paddock area is always open to spectators with the purchase of an event ticket, offering a level of access to cars and drivers not available in most other forms of motorsport. Fans can also visit the numerous vendors with a variety of racing-related memorabilia or check out one of the SVRA car shows. For more information on SVRA events, visit www.svra.com.

Tickets to the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival are $40 each day or $60 for a weekend pass. Children 12-and-under are admitted free and parking is free. For more information, go to  www.RaceSonoma.com/historics or call 800-870-7223.

The celebration of fine cars at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival continues into the evening on Saturday, May 30, at 23rd annual Historic Race Car Festival on the Sonoma Plaza. A group of select race cars will parade to the Plaza and be placed on display during the festival. Locals and race fans alike will enjoy tastings from several local restaurants and wineries. All proceeds from the charity event will benefit the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation and Speedway Children's Charities, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway.

The Historic Race Car Festival runs from 5:30-8 p.m., and tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the event.
