Raceway Kicks-Off "PG&E Tickets for Troops" Program for 2012
For the third consecutive year, Infineon Raceway will partner with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and San Jose-based nonprofit organization Operation: Care and Comfort to offer race fans a patriotic way to support the men and women of the Armed Forces with the “PG&E Tickets for Troops” program.
For just $20, race fans can say “thank you” to military members in a way they will never forget – by sending them to the races in Sonoma. The PG&E Tickets for Troops program enables anyone – from everyday citizens to corporations – to sponsor Active Duty Military, Veterans and Reservists and send them to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event on June 24, or Hero Appreciation Day at the Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma on Aug. 26.
“Pacific Gas & Electric is proud to continue our partnership with the raceway to distribute tickets to active-duty, reserve, retired and veteran military personnel,” said James Morante, Governmental Relations Manager for PG&E. “Hero Appreciation Day culminates the raceway’s season-long salute to the military; and PG&E understands that no recognition could ever be enough for the sacrifices these men and woman have made for their country.”
Those who purchase tickets for troops will be included in the PG&E Tickets for Troops online listing at infineonraceway.com, listed in the souvenir program and featured on Jumbotron screens on race day.
Each race day will feature a patriotic theme with an air show by the Patriots Jet Team, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, military fly-bys and an Army cannon national salute. Then, it’s time to fire up the engines for high-speed racing!
Operation: Care and Comfort (OCC) is an all volunteer 501c3 charity whose mission is to support troops, veterans and their families. OCC, through its Tickets for Troops program, annually distributes thousands of FREE sports and entertainment tickets to Northern California military personnel and veterans.
“This is such a great partnership,” stated Julie DeMaria, president and cofounder of OCC. “To know that PG&E has established a Tickets for Troops program with Infineon Raceway shows how committed we all are to supporting those who have served our country.”
Infineon Raceway wants to ensure that all military members, past and present, have the opportunity to experience great racing action in Sonoma. The “PG&E Tickets for Troops” program is the perfect way for race fans to share their passion with the men and women serving our country.
