Sonoma Raceway chatted with defending GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma winner Scott Dixon, driver of the #9 Target Chevrolet for Chip Ganassi Racing entry, about the upcoming Verizon IndyCar series season and racing in Sonoma. Here's what he had to say:

What are some things IndyCar fans can be excited about in 2015?

Dixon: Lots! Aero kits, faster speeds, new venues like New Orleans and a new season finale in Sonoma are just a few.

How do you feel about the double points scoring system for the finale at Sonoma?

SD: I think it creates some interest, but deep down I feel every race should pay the same number of points.

SR: Do you have a memorable moment at Sonoma Raceway?

SD: Winning there twice! Sonoma is a great venue and one of our favorite places to race. It's a huge weekend for Target as well, and we all love making the trip up from San Francisco.

SR: Thoughts on the new aero kit after testing at Barber?

SD: The cars have a lot more downforce and the new package seems to be very racey. The cars now have a distinct difference and I think the fans will like the new look.

SR: From a race fan's perspective, what makes racing at Sonoma so special?

SD: Well, first off, what better backdrop could you have than Sonoma Valley? It’s wine country and everyone I know puts Sonoma on their calendar as a can’t-miss race. It’s a very challenging and technical track and brings out the very best in the drivers.
