Race fans can celebrate 60 years of National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) history during the FRAM/Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon Raceway, July 29-31.

The raceway will host the 2nd annual Nostalgia Get-Together throughout the weekend, which will feature more than 30 vintage racing machines and hot rods in the paddock behind the main grandstand.  Entry to the Get-Together is free with your paid admission into the raceway.

It’s an opportunity to take a stroll down memory lane with the Schrank Bros. Top Fuel dragster, or the Vagabond 1962 AA/Fuel Dragster formerly driven by Gary Ormsby. The area will feature vintage front-engine Top Fuel dragsters, nostalgia Funny Car floppers, A/Fuel dragsters, Gassers and more. Plus, you’ll get to the owners of these historical machines, as well as get autographs.

Some of the highlighted cars include:

  • 1976 Mustang Blue Max Funny Car
  • Sid Waterman-Ron Hampshire AA/F dragster
  • Jim Murphy’s WW2 Nostalgia Top Fuel dragster
  • Steve Castelli’s “Hot Rod Willys” 1941 Willys Coupe

The raceway will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of the NHRA with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Legends in Sonoma program, featuring “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, Shirley Muldowney and Don “The Snake” Prudhomme.  The drivers will be featured throughout the weekend, including an autograph session with Muldowney at the Wine Country Winner’s Circle on Friday at 5:30 p.m., as well as an autograph and Track Talk Q&A session on Saturday at 12:45 p.m., also at the Wine Country Winner’s Circle.

Fans can also get up-close and personal with these legends on Sunday, July 31, with the special O’Reilly Auto Parts Legends in Sonoma ticket package, which includes a chance to attend a Q&A and track walk with Garlits, Muldowney and Prudhomme on the drag strip before final eliminations.  This Sunday package includes a Main Grandstand ticket, as well as all-day Thunder Alley access for just $80.
