WHAT: 
The top drag racers in the world will visit the Sonoma Valley for the 25th annual NHRA Sonoma Nationals. The weekend will feature professional drag racing in the Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle divisions. 

WHEN: 
July 27-29. This is the 14th stop on the 23-race NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series schedule.

DRAG STRIP:  
NHRA dragsters will compete on the world-famous drag strip that features a 660-foot concrete launch pad and is located just 15 feet above sea level.  This combination has helped the drag strip become one of the quickest and fastest in the country.

Antron Brown (Top Fuel); Ron Capps (Funny Car); Greg Anderson (Pro Stock); and LE Tonglet (Pro Stock Motorcycle).

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Ron Capps posted back-to-back Funny Car victories in 2010 and 2011.  He has three total Sonoma wins. … Six of the eight track records were reset in 2011, including a 321.65 mph blast by Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel)... Doug Kalitta has won five Top Fuel championships in Sonoma (1998-2000, 2004-‘05)…John Force holds the record for pro wins at in Sonoma with seven, all in Funny Car (1990-92, ’94, 2000, ’02, ’07) … Greg Anderson has posted the most Sonoma wins in Pro Stock with four (2004-’05, ’07, ’11)… Andrew Hines is the only repeat Pro Stock Motorcycle winner over 10 events (2005, ’09)… Don Prudhomme is the only driver to win in two pro categories in Sonoma — Funny Car (1989) and Top Fuel (1992). 

25TH ANNIVERSARY:
The raceway will celebrate 25 years of drag racing in the Sonoma Valley, and race fans are invited to join in the fun. Fans can enjoy a walk down memory lane at the 3rd annual Nostalgia Get-Together, featuring more than 30 historic racing machines and hot rods, as well as look back at memorable moments in Sonoma on the Motel 6 Vision big screen.  Plus, don’t miss a Track Talk Q&A session with some of the sport’s legends on Saturday at 1:30 pm. in the Wine Country Winner’s Circle.
