Community members have a unique opportunity to take a ride in a first responder vehicle on the Sonoma Raceway road course as part of the raceway's Laps of Appreciation benefit on the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 12. This fundraising event will serve as a special opportunity for the North Bay community to gather and thank the public safety personnel involved in the response to October's fires.
Fifty-three Sonoma County non-profit organizations will benefit from more than $405,000 in grants that were recently awarded by the Sonoma chapter of Speedway Children's Charities (SCC), the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway.

Long-time Sonoma Raceway Drag Racing Manager Georgia Seipel will turn over the reins to her son and fellow drag-racer Kyle Seipel in 2018, as he takes over management of the raceway's quarter-mile drag strip and drag racing operations.
Sonoma Raceway will join in the festivities at the Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue "Thanking Our Community" Open House and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 12, by collecting food and toys for Sonoma County residents in need.
